What is Distil?

Distil is a customer research and continuous discovery platform that turns interviews, sales calls, support conversations, and other customer calls into evidence-backed insights. It combines thematic analysis, traceable evidence, and stakeholder-ready reporting to help companies make better product and business decisions.

Why do I need continuous customer discovery?

Quantitative analytics tells you none of your customers ordered your pizza. It doesn’t tell you it’s because they wanted a burger. Analytics only sizes the options you've already put on the table; talking to the customer reveals the ones you didn't.

We already record our calls, why should we use Distil?

Distil removes the 4-8 hours of per-call synthesis and builds a prioritized report of insights, quotes, strategic implications, risks and gaps, product recommendations and makes it available to the whole company. Every insight is tied to its source.

How is Distil’s Synthesis different from an AI summary?

Distil’s custom process is built on the gold standard for reproducible, thematic-analysis methods and saves all your data into a searchable repository. If you need to see the underlying context of an insight, anyone with access can jump back to the moment the customer talked about it on the call.

What if I don’t know anything about my customer yet?

Don’t worry! Distil has two types of call to choose from depending on where you are in your customer discovery. Early on, when you don’t have a hypothesis to test, use ‘Unstructured’ calls (they skip the Persona and Script). When you want to validate a specific hypothesis, use ‘Structured’ calls.

Can the whole company see the insights?

Yes. Distil is designed to encourage teamwork. No per-seat fees, so anyone you add can view a project, build personas, run calls, and view the reports. Shared knowledge. No silos.

What if I use Zoom or Teams?

Distil saves you the most time when you use it to run your video calls. But, if you’re feeling old school, you can import transcripts for analysis.
